Publang Announces Five New BL Manhwa and Web Novels at Anime NYC
Korean digital publisher Publang announced five new titles expanding its Boys' Love (BL) catalog at Anime NYC, held at the Javits Center in New York on August 22, 2026. According to Anime News Network, the announcement covers three manhwa and two web novels.
On the manhwa side, the popular omega verse title Define the Relationship, the fantasy standout The Hunter's Gonna Lay Low, and the dark romance PASSION, adapted from Yunjeong's novel, are included. On the web novel side, there are Healer and the novel version of The Hunter's Gonna Lay Low. Thus, The Hunter's Gonna Lay Low became a notable title announced simultaneously as both a manhwa and a web novel.
Publang was launched in 2021 as the BL-focused brand of RIDI, one of Korea's leading e-book platforms. The platform aims to bring BL webtoons and novels that have gained popularity in Korea to international readers. This new announcement is seen as part of the strategy to open up Korean BL content to the Western market. In particular, PASSION and Define the Relationship stand out for having a large fan base in Korea.
The official English translations of these titles are of great importance to international readers who do not know Korean. Publang is expected to release these works on its own platform in the coming months; however, exact release dates have not yet been announced. At a time when the BL genre continues to grow globally, such official announcements are closely followed by fans.
