Solo Leveling: Karma Game Unveiled at AnimeJapan 2026: Opening Video by A-1 Pictures Released

The news that Solo Leveling fans have been waiting for has finally arrived! During the AnimeJapan 2026 event, an official trailer was shared for the series' new PC and mobile game, Solo Leveling: Karma. The most notable detail is that the game's opening sequence was produced by A-1 Pictures, the studio behind the anime series itself. According to the official announcement, the game will be released globally in the second half of 2026.
Solo Leveling: Karma sheds light on a mysterious period not fully covered in the original manhwa and novel. The story focuses on the 27-year epic war waged by the main character Sung Jinwoo against the Sovereigns within the "Dimensional Gap." This new scenario, penned by the original author Chugong, centers on Jinwoo's efforts to repair the "Broken Cup of Reincarnation" to recover his fragmented memories. This depth will offer fans the opportunity to explore the series' universe from a perspective they have never seen before.
The game is designed as a roguelite action RPG with an isometric camera angle. Players will experience fast-paced hack-and-slash gameplay against massive monsters using Sung Jinwoo's iconic daggers, scythes, and bows. Additionally, the shadow army, one of the most beloved elements of the series, plays a significant role in the game; players will be able to summon legendary shadows like Igris and Iron to assist them during combat. Thanks to the strategic "Blessing" system, players will be able to improve their skills each round and encounter a different dungeon experience every time.
This announcement is seen as the latest link in the process of the Solo Leveling brand transforming into a global media giant. Following the success of the first game released in 2024, Solo Leveling: Arise, Netmarble is raising the bar even higher. 2026 seems set to be the year of the "Shadow Monarch," not only with this game but also with the console-focused Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive and the live-action series to be released on Netflix. While the wait for the third season of the anime series continues, such projects keep the fanbase engaged.
Although a precise date for the game's release has not yet been given, it is expected to launch in the final quarter of 2026. The title, which will be available simultaneously on mobile platforms (iOS/Android) and PC, will adopt a free-to-play model. Fans can follow the pre-registration processes and closed beta announcements, which will begin in the coming months, through official channels.
