Cheese in the Trap

Written by the acclaimed creator Soonkki, Cheese in the Trap is a genre-defining webtoon that masterfully blends campus romance with psychological thriller elements. The story follows Hong Seol, a perceptive and diligent scholarship student who returns to university after a long break, hoping for a quiet academic year. However, her plans are derailed when she entangles with Yoo Jung, the department's 'Mr. Perfect.' While everyone else admires Jung for his wealth, looks, and generosity, Seol alone has witnessed his cold, manipulative dark side—and she is convinced he hates her.

The tension escalates when Jung, who previously treated Seol with disdain, suddenly begins pursuing her with unexpected warmth and affection. Is this sudden change of heart the sweet 'cheese' meant to lure her into a dangerous trap? As Seol navigates this confusing dynamic, she is forced to decipher Jung's true intentions while dealing with the arrival of Baek In-ho, a brash and talented pianist from Jung's past who warns her to stay away. The complex love triangle that ensues is fraught with secrets, misunderstandings, and intense character chemistry.

Beyond the romance, Cheese in the Trap is praised for its hyper-realistic portrayal of social hierarchy and human nature. From navigating toxic group projects to handling stalkers and frenemies, the series offers a raw look at the pressures of young adulthood. With its multi-layered characters and gripping narrative, this webtoon challenges readers to look beneath the surface, making it an addictive read for fans of character-driven drama and psychological intrigue.
