His Majesty's Secret Heroine

Yeon Lokheun was born with a name signifying a "happy morning," but her destiny was anything but bright. After a brutal tragedy claims her mother and brands her father a fugitive, Lokheun makes a life-altering choice. To protect her remaining family, she pledges her life to Emperor Garyun, a ruler driven to correct the corrupt legacy of his predecessor. Concealing her gender, she enters his service as a boy, submitting herself to hellish training that transforms her into an unsurpassed martial artist and a master of spiritual arts.

Now acting as the Emperor's secret shadow, Lokheun travels the realm solving supernatural mysteries and battling demons that threaten the empire. However, her most dangerous challenge lies within the palace walls. As she rises through the ranks to become Garyun’s most trusted confidant, the emotional distance between master and subordinate begins to close. Garyun finds himself inexplicably drawn to his loyal warrior, unaware of the woman hiding beneath the guise. His Majesty's Secret Heroine weaves a rich tapestry of action, fantasy, and romance, exploring whether love can bloom amidst lies and if a heroine forged in darkness can ever find her own light.
