Sakamoto Days

Taro Sakamoto was the undisputed king of the underworld, a legendary hitman feared by every criminal organization. However, his life took an unexpected turn when he fell in love with a woman named Aoi. Choosing a life of domestic bliss over bloodshed, Sakamoto retired, got married, and became the proud owner of a small convenience store. Though he has gained some weight and settled into a quiet routine, his lethal skills remain as sharp as ever. The catch is that he has promised his wife he will never take another life, forcing him to find creative, non-lethal ways to handle the dangerous foes that come knocking at his door.

The story follows Sakamoto as he builds an eccentric team of allies, including Shin, a young telepathic assassin who formerly worked for the same organization, and Lu Shaotang, a skilled martial artist and daughter of a triad boss. Together, they navigate the chaotic world of the JCC (Japan Crime Collectors) and face off against The Order, an elite squad of the world's strongest assassins. As a mysterious and malevolent figure known as Slur begins a campaign to dismantle the hitman association, Sakamoto is pulled deeper into a conspiracy that threatens his peaceful life and the safety of his family.

Sakamoto Days is widely acclaimed for its inventive fight choreography and cinematic action sequences that often use everyday convenience store items as deadly weapons. It perfectly balances intense, high-stakes battles with heartwarming moments of fatherhood and community. Whether you are a fan of classic martial arts manga or modern action-comedies, this series offers a refreshing and visually stunning take on the "retired badass" trope, proving that being a family man is the toughest job of all.
