Major Announcements Made on the First Day of Anime Expo 2026

Anime Expo 2026 opened its doors on July 2 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and hosted a series of announcements that shook the anime world on its first day. During the opening panel, major studios formalized projects that fans had been eagerly awaiting.
One of the most striking news was that studio MAPPA announced that the third season of "Jujutsu Kaisen" will be released in 2027. Also, the first trailer for the second season of "Solo Leveling" was shown, and it was announced that the season will start in January 2027. Ufotable announced that they are working on a new film series for "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" and that the first film will be released in 2028.
Additionally, Studio Bones made an unexpected surprise by sharing that they are preparing a new OVA series set in the "Mob Psycho 100" universe. Toei Animation introduced a new side story project for "One Piece".
