Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity's Release Date and Song Artists Announced

The long-awaited release date for the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity anime has finally been announced. According to the official announcement, the third season will premiere on Japanese television on July 25, 2026. Additionally, the artists performing the opening and ending songs have been revealed: jo0ji will perform the opening theme "I-BULL", and 9Lana will perform the ending theme "Rasen".
This season is a continuation of the broadcast of the Bleach universe's darkest and most action-packed story, "Thousand-Year Blood War." The first two seasons were highly acclaimed, standing out for their animation quality and fidelity to Tite Kubo's original manga. The subtitle The Calamity indicates that the war between Yhwach's Quincy army and the Soul Society and its allies will reach catastrophic proportions.
Jo0ji and 9Lana are names that have frequently been mentioned in recent years for their anime music. Jo0ji is known for emotionally charged and energetic tracks he has composed for popular productions, while 9Lana stands out with a modern rock sound. Regarding the opening song "I-BULL", jo0ji said, "It is an incredible honor to be part of this project; I wanted to reflect the power and passion of the Bleach world." The ending song "Rasen" (Spiral) may refer to the increasingly complex cycles of the story.
The end of the Bleach anime in 2012 upset thousands of fans. However, the Thousand-Year Blood War project announced in 2021 reignited the series. The first two seasons covered the beginning of the final major battle in the manga and significant character transformations. With The Calamity, the war will enter its final phase, and the fate of Ichigo Kurosaki will become clear. Those who have read the manga know that these chapters host the series' most striking moments.
The new season is generating high expectations not only for its story but also for its visual effects and music. Both songs will be released on digital platforms on July 25. As Bleach fans prepare for a bloody and thrilling battle this summer, they are eager to see how the finale of Tite Kubo's manga will be adapted into the anime. An official promotional trailer and additional character posters are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
