Candy Caries Is Now on Amazon Prime Video: The Fun, Tooth-Unfriendly Adventure Begins!

Candy Caries, the new project from director Tomoki Misato, who achieved worldwide success with Pui Pui Molcar, has launched a global campaign on digital platforms. As of April 16, 2026, Amazon Prime Video began streaming the series in many international regions, including North America, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. Simultaneously with this move, the series' official YouTube channel has maximized accessibility by offering episodes for free to viewers worldwide (with the exception of certain regions).
The series follows the absurd adventures of a little girl named Ame, who loves sweets, and Caries, a character living in her mouth who represents tooth decay. While Caries calls Ame "Mom," it uses her teeth like furniture and directs the young girl's body as it pleases, turning her life into complete chaos. In the voice cast, Miyuki Satō brings the character of Ame to life, while Hana Takeda voices Caries. This unusual "mother-daughter" dynamic promises viewers a slapstick comedy experience that is both cute and highly energetic.
Produced by TORUKU, the stop-motion studio established under WIT Studio, the production also draws attention with its visual style. Director Tomoki Misato states that in this project, they used plastic sheets and acrylic materials instead of traditional wool felt to achieve a semi-three-dimensional aesthetic that is "flat like an illustration, but also plump and thick." The series' music is composed by Yutaka Yamada, known for Vinland Saga, while the theme song "Telepathy" is performed by the popular girl group IS:SUE.
The wide-scale digital distribution of Candy Caries proves once again how valuable short-form and experimental content has become in the anime industry. The project, which first emerged as a promotional video in 2021 and reached millions of views on YouTube, is now on its way to becoming a global phenomenon as a full television series. This original production, which takes a humorous and slightly ruthless look at dental health, offers a breath of fresh air for both children and adult anime lovers.
