Crunchyroll Announces New and Classic Anime to Stream in Summer 2026

Crunchyroll is making a strong start to the summer season. The platform confirmed on June 30, 2026, in a comprehensive announcement that it will add a total of seven anime series to its catalog. The announced productions include One Piece Heroines, BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita, The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects, Iron Wok Jan!, Draw This, Then Die!, Red River, and Recommendations from Iwamoto-Senpai. This diversity reflects Crunchyroll's strategy of bringing together both new-generation productions and cult classics from the 90s and 2000s.
One of the most notable titles on the list is One Piece Heroines. This side story focusing on female characters in the One Piece universe stands out as a project fans have long awaited. On the other hand, for music lovers, the BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita series follows the new dreams of beloved characters. The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects is the anime adaptation of the popular light novel series. This series, which tells the story of a lord with no subjects, combines isekai and kingdom management themes.
Another piece of news that will delight classic anime fans is the re-release of Iron Wok Jan! and Red River. The 1995 production Iron Wok Jan! (Japanese: Tetsu no Wok Jan!) offers an ambitious story set in the world of chefs and cooking, while Red River (Japanese: Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori) is known as Shinji Wada's historical romance classic. Additionally, the horror and thriller genre is represented by Draw This, Then Die!, while Recommendations from Iwamoto-Senpai will appeal to fans of youth comedy.
This move by Crunchyroll shows that the platform is investing not only in seasonal productions but also in unforgettable series from the past. The addition of a masterpiece like Red River, which has been absent from digital platforms for a long time, is a major gain for collector-minded viewers. Although release dates have not been announced yet, it is stated that all series will be added gradually during the summer of 2026. This announcement is interpreted as part of Crunchyroll's strategy to increase its subscriber count and cater to different tastes.
