Seven-Eleven's Special Menu in Honor of Detective Conan's New Movie "Highway no Datenshi": Matsuda's "Disassembly" Bread Has Arrived!

As Japan's most beloved detective Conan Edogawa prepares to return to the big screen for the 29th time, the famous convenience store chain Seven-Eleven is joining in on the excitement. As part of a special collaboration prepared in honor of the series' new film Highway no Datenshi (The Fallen Angel of the Highway), character-themed foods have hit the shelves in stores across the Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama regions. This campaign serves as both a nostalgic and delicious surprise for the series' loyal fan base.
The most talked-about product of the collaboration is undoubtedly the Jinpei Matsuda-themed "Detachable Chocolate Bread" (Matsuda no Bunkai Chigiri Pan), inspired by one of the fans' favorite characters. A nod to Matsuda's skill as a bomb disposal expert known for taking mechanical objects apart (bunkai) in seconds, the bread stands out with its structure that can be easily pulled apart by hand. In addition, a total of six different products, such as the cheesy Napolitan pasta symbolizing the white wings of Chihaya Hagiwara, known as the "Goddess of Wind" of the Kanagawa Traffic Division, and the Conan-themed Lu Rou Fan (minced pork rice), will be on sale for a limited time.
Releasing in Japan on April 10, 2026, Highway no Datenshi is the 29th feature film in the series. This time, the story takes us to the high-speed roads of Yokohama and focuses on Chihaya Hagiwara, the older sister of Kenji Hagiwara. Directed by Takahiro Hasui, the film connects past tragedies with a mysterious motorcyclist criminal in the present. The film features master voice actors such as Miyuki Sawashiro, and the inclusion of Jinpei Matsuda in flashback scenes has sent excitement among fans to new heights.
Detective Conan (Meitantei Conan), launched by Gosho Aoyama in 1994, has become a global phenomenon with both its manga and anime for over thirty years. The films, which are released annually during Japan's "Golden Week" holiday, break records by grossing billions of yen at the box office. Following the massive 14.6 billion yen success of the previous film, One-Eyed Flashback, Highway no Datenshi is expected to achieve similar success and once again prove the series' unshakable place in popular culture.
