Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Returns with an Enhanced Version: Here is the New Trailer and Details

The long-awaited news for Dragon Ball fans has finally arrived! As part of the series' 40th-anniversary celebrations, an exciting new trailer has been shared for the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus project, which revisits the origin story of the series. Unveiled at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event held in Los Angeles, this new version promises to bring the animation quality, which was criticized during the series' original 2015 broadcast, up to modern standards.
Called the "Enhanced Edition," this project is not just a simple visual upgrade; it is also a comprehensive production where the story has been re-edited. According to statements made by Toei Animation, numerous scenes throughout the series have been redrawn, new sequences have been added, and all footage has been re-processed using the latest animation techniques. Additionally, iconic members of the voice cast, Masako Nozawa (Goku) and Koichi Yamadera (Beerus), have recorded new dialogue for this version. These innovations aim to provide an experience that is much more faithful to Akira Toriyama's original manga drafts and notes.
The biggest surprise of the newly released trailer was hidden at the end of the video. Following the epic battle between the God of Destruction Beerus and Goku, one of the most feared villains in the universe, Frieza, appeared on screen briefly. This confirms that the project will not be limited to just the Beerus arc and will likely continue under the name Dragon Ball Super: Frieza, covering the "Resurrection 'F'" arc as well. Fans will have the chance to watch those historic moments, especially when Goku first achieves his Super Saiyan God form, with much more fluid and impressive visuals this time around.
This development is of great importance in keeping the legacy of the legendary creator Akira Toriyama, whom we lost in 2024, alive. The series producer, Akio Iyoku, stated that this project is a passion project that has been worked on for years to reflect Toriyama's world in the most accurate way possible. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will begin airing on Fuji TV in Japan in the fall of 2026. Furthermore, the first signals regarding the adaptation of the "Galactic Patrol Prisoner" (Moro Arc), one of the popular chapters of the manga, were also given at the event, creating great excitement within the community.
