Kagurabachi Anime Releases Visual and Trailer for Main Character Chihiro Rokuhira

Kagurabachi, one of Shonen Jump's breakout series recently, has launched its first major promotional wave for the anime adaptation. Official sources have released the character visual and a short promotional trailer for the main character, Chihiro Rokuhira. In the visual, Chihiro appears with a determined expression alongside the series' iconic sword, Enten. Although the trailer is only a few seconds long, it gives hints about the quality of the animation.
Kagurabachi is a manga created by author Takeru Hokazono, which began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in September 2023. The story follows young Chihiro, who vows revenge after his father's death, as he battles with magical swords and a dark organization. The manga quickly gained a large fanbase both in Japan and internationally. In fact, it became a trending topic on social media with its first chapters and attracted attention with its sales figures.
The announcement of the anime adaptation was made at the Jump Festa event a few months ago. At that time, only a teaser visual was shared. This new trailer confirms that the production is being handled by CygamesPictures. The studio previously made a name for itself with works like The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses and Akudama Drive. CygamesPictures' success in action scenes is promising for Kagurabachi's dynamic fight sequences.
Although Chihiro's voice actor has not yet been announced in the trailer, the character's aesthetic design is quite faithful to the manga's illustrations. Particularly the cold expression in his eyes and his cloak are details familiar to readers. The release date for the anime has not been finalized yet, but a release is expected in 2025. Given the series' popularity, it is likely that a new trailer and cast announcement will follow shortly after this promotion.
Kagurabachi receiving an anime adaptation so quickly shows the importance Shonen Jump places on new-generation series. Announcing the anime while the manga is only available in a few volumes indicates confidence in the series' potential. Fans are eagerly waiting to see Chihiro's revenge journey on screen. A new trailer or release date is expected in the coming weeks; stay tuned.
