McDonald's Japan and Saint Seiya Collaboration: New Menus That Will "Burn Your Cosmo" Introduced

One of Japan's most beloved fast-food traditions, the Chicken Tatsuta series, is opening its doors to a legendary collaboration this year. Created by Masami Kurumada and boasting millions of fans worldwide, Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac) has become the new face of McDonald's Japan's campaign. As part of the collaboration starting on May 20th, four different burger menus will be available in branches, served in specially designed packaging featuring the series' iconic characters.
One of the most striking elements of the campaign is the new commercial that has begun airing on television. Seiya from the famous comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo reinterpreted the series' unforgettable opening song, Pegasus Fantasy, in his own style. By adapting the song's lyrics to McDonald's menus, the comedian both makes a nod to the series' main protagonist with his name and provides fans with nostalgic and fun moments. Seeing Seiya in the Pegasus Seiya costume in the commercial has already garnered significant attention on social media.
Saint Seiya, which began its journey in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1985, continues to leave its mark today as a giant franchise that persists with modern adaptations and side stories. Blending Greek mythology with armored warriors, the series has become one of the most successful manga series of all time, selling over 50 million copies worldwide. McDonald's choice of this series for the collaboration parallels the 40th-anniversary celebrations in Japan and proves once again how strong the interest in classic series remains.
The new menus include the classic Chicken Tatsuta as well as different flavored chicken burgers prepared specifically for this year. Limited edition
