A Shojo Classic from 2007, Dengeki Daisy, Gets Anime Adaptation in 2027

The long-awaited news has finally arrived: Dengeki Daisy, the popular shojo manga serialized in Betsucomi magazine from 2007 to 2013, is coming to screens as a television anime adaptation in 2027. According to Anime Corner, the main staff for the project has also been announced. Although which studio will handle the adaptation and the voice actors have not yet been confirmed, the announcement has excited fans greatly.
Dengeki Daisy is a work by manga artist Kyousuke Motomi. The story follows high school student Teru Kurebayashi, who is left alone after losing her mother, and her relationship with a mysterious hacker named "Daisy." Teru becomes attached to Daisy without knowing that he is actually the school janitor, Tasuku Kurosaki. The series became one of the best-selling shojo manga of its time, blending romance, comedy, and suspense with its unique storytelling. Motomi's other works include Beast Master and QQ Sweeper.
Why is this news so significant? The shojo genre has been gaining renewed attention in recent years through nostalgic adaptations. New adaptations or sequel seasons of classics like Fruits Basket, Kimi ni Todoke, and Skip Beat! have been highly acclaimed. Dengeki Daisy's anime in 2027 offers both nostalgia for those who grew up in the early 2000s and an opportunity to present a quality story to a new generation. Since the manga is complete at 16 volumes, it is possible for the adaptation to cover the entire story.
Production details are currently limited. The 2027 target indicates that studio and broadcaster selection is still in its early stages. Fans can expect key names such as the studio, director, and character designers to be announced in the coming months. Additionally, Dengeki Daisy previously had a drama CD adaptation, which may provide hints about the voice cast. The series trending on social media has also boosted producers' confidence in the project.
