The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me Anime Starts in October: New Trailer and Voice Cast Revealed!

In the world of romantic comedy, "cold but sweet" characters always hold a special place. The long-awaited news for one of the newest and most ambitious representatives of this genre, The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me (known in Japanese as Shiotaiō no Satō-san ga Ore ni Dake Amai), has finally arrived! With the release of the new promotional video, it has been confirmed that the series will meet the audience in the October 2026 season.
The series' voice cast brings together both experienced and popular names. In addition to the previously announced leads Miku Itō (Koharu Satō) and Hiiro Ishibashi (Sōta Oshio), it was announced that talented names such as Miyu Tomita, Chiaki Kobayashi, Yoshino Aoyama, and Hisako Kanemoto have joined the cast. In particular, the news that Miyu Tomita will bring the character Shizuku Misono to life has created great excitement among fans.
The technical side of the anime is handled by the well-established studio Tezuka Productions. Fumihiro Yoshimura sits in the director's chair, while the script adaptation is handled by Takashi Aoshima, known for works such as The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You and Himouto! Umaruchan. Character designs bear the signature of Daisuke Okushima, while the music is composed by Shun Narita.
The story revolves around Koharu Satō, who appears ice-cold to everyone from the outside and is therefore nicknamed the "Salt Goddess." However, her classmate Sōta Oshio accidentally discovers that Koharu is actually just socially awkward and shy. The original light novel series, written by Kazami Sawatari and illustrated by Achiki, has been published under the Gagaga Bunko label since 2019 and has a large fan base.
Before the big premiere in October, a special preview screening with the voice actors in attendance will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly on September 20th for lucky fans. If you enjoy "gap moe" (a character's unexpected contrasting traits) elements and sincere high school romances, The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me should definitely be on your list this fall season!
