First Character Reveal for Tomb Raider King Anime: Ryoga Gouriki Takes the Stage!
The popular webtoon series Tomb Raider King (known in Japanese as Tougkutsu Ou), which has reached millions of readers worldwide, is preparing to step into the anime world. According to the latest official announcement, a special character teaser video (PV) has been released for the series' charismatic protagonist, Ryoga Gouriki (originally known as Seo Joo-heon). The character is voiced by experienced voice actor Yoshimasa Hosoya, whom we know from his role as Reiner Braun in Attack on Titan. In addition to this exciting development, the production team has launched an interesting social media campaign where one lucky fan will be gifted 1 gram of pure gold.
Tomb Raider King focuses on mysterious tombs that suddenly appeared all over the world in 2025, containing "relics" with god-like powers. At the center of the story, Ryoga Gouriki is betrayed by his employer while working as a tomb raider and left for dead. However, he miraculously travels back 15 years to the time when the tombs first appeared. Armed with all the knowledge and experience from the future, Ryoga sets out to seize all the relics one by one, become the true "Tomb Raider King," and take revenge on those who betrayed him.
STUDIO EEK sits in the production chair for the anime, while the direction and series composition are handled by Seung Wook Woo, who has worked on major projects like Hunter x Hunter. The voice cast is a star-studded lineup: names such as Saori Hayami (Irene Holton), Junichi Suwabe (Taisei Oogawara), Miyu Irino (Kotaro Yanagi), and Nobuhiko Okamoto (Sho Kureha) have joined the project. The series' music is composed by Ju Young Kim, while the opening theme song "Show Down" will be performed by the popular K-pop group QWER.
This production, which is awaited with great curiosity especially by Solo Leveling fans, combines themes of "regression" and revenge with an action-packed treasure hunt. Tomb Raider King will begin airing in Japan in July 2026 on Fuji TV and Kansai TV. The countdown has already begun to see how Ryoga, one of the most beloved anti-heroes of the webtoon world, will defeat his rivals with his intelligence and ruthless strategies.
