Weekly Shonen Jump Apologizes for Stock Issues Due to Blue Box Finale and One Piece Card
Weekly Shonen Jump published an apology message to its fans due to the stock depletion of its recently published issue. The issue in question contained the long-awaited final chapter of the Blue Box manga and a special One Piece card along with it. In the statement made through the magazine's official channels, it was noted that the high demand could not be met and that they regretted this situation.
It was reported that the main cause of the shortage was that some buyers purchased the issue in bulk and resold the One Piece card inside at high prices. In the apology message, Jump management stated, “We are sadly following these speculative behaviors that cause our fans to not find the magazine in stores.” Officials added that they are considering options such as increasing print runs and strengthening digital distribution channels to prevent similar situations.
Blue Box, the series written and drawn by Kouji Miura that has gained a large fan base in the sports-romance genre, has been published weekly in Jump since 2021. The final chapter received full marks from critics as well as readers; the character development and emotional moments throughout the series were praised.
