Miku Ito and Miyari Nemoto Join Kagurabachi Anime Cast, Release Date April 2027
Kagurabachi anime continues to receive new cast announcements. According to the official announcement, Miku Ito will take on the role of Hinao, one of the series' beloved characters, while Miyari Nemoto has joined the cast as Char Kyonagi, one of the story's key figures. The anime adaptation of Takeru Hokazono's manga is scheduled to premiere in April 2027.
The cast announcement came with new visuals shared via Jump Festa and official social media accounts. Hinao is known as a cheerful and supportive character who is an ally of the swordsman Chihiro Rokuhira and runs a café in Tokyo. Char Kyonagi is a young girl who plays a central role in the series' first major arc with her magical powers. Both characters have been fan favorites since the manga's early chapters. The two new voice cast members expressed their excitement about these roles.
The new faces joining the cast are also very familiar in the anime world. Miku Ito is known for roles like Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, Kokoro Tsurumaki in BanG Dream!, and Kokkoro in Princess Connect! Re:Dive. Despite her young age, she has a large fan base both as a seiyuu and solo artist. Miyari Nemoto is one of the rising stars of recent years; she has drawn attention with roles such as Saki Shiraishi in Idoly Pride and Mashiro Irodori in VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream. Nemoto's performance for a highly emotional character like Char is already a subject of curiosity.
Kagurabachi began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 18, 2023, and quickly became one of the magazine's biggest new hits. The series follows swordsman Chihiro Rokuhira, whose father is murdered and who seeks revenge, as he fights against the underworld to reclaim the six enchanted katanas his father forged. It has been praised for its cinematic action scenes and dark atmosphere. In 2024, the manga won first place in the print category at the Next Manga Awards (Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho) and received massive social media attention abroad, referred to as the "Kagurabachi storm." The anime adaptation was officially announced at Jump Festa 2025 in December 2024, and it was revealed that animation would be handled by CygamesPictures.
Scheduling the anime for a relatively distant date like April 2027 shows that the studio is dedicating a long production period to the project. This gives hope for the sword fights and Hokazono's detailed artwork to be brought to the anime with high quality. The fact that the voice cast for the main character Chihiro and the enemy organization Hishaku has not yet been announced remains the biggest source of curiosity among fans. New trailers and additional cast announcements are expected in the coming months via Jump Festa and Jump magazine.
