New Participants and Special Product Details Added to Afternoon 40th Anniversary Exhibition

Kodansha has announced new participating works and special surprises for the “Afternoon 40th Anniversary Exhibition”, to be held as part of the 40th anniversary of the beloved Monthly Afternoon magazine. The event, which is the first large-scale exhibition in the magazine's history, has already caught the attention of manga fans.
According to the announcement, the new works added to the exhibition will include original manuscripts and rare illustrations from some of the magazine's legendary series. In addition, gifts to be given with specially produced admission tickets for the exhibition were shown for the first time. These gifts are said to include limited edition mini posters, special bookmarks, and a collection card set featuring Afternoon's iconic covers.
Monthly Afternoon was founded by Kodansha in 1986 and quickly became one of the most respected magazines in the seinen manga world. Hosting cult series such as Blade of the Immortal, Parasyte, Mushishi, Aria, and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō, the magazine has produced many manga that have sold over a million copies. This 40-year legacy will be presented to fans for the first time in such a comprehensive exhibition.
Although the exact dates and location of the exhibition have not yet been officially announced, industry sources predict that the event will take place in the summer of 2025 at an art gallery in Tokyo. Kodansha is expected to launch a special website and social media campaign for the exhibition. The Afternoon 40th Anniversary Exhibition will offer both longtime readers and new generations of manga fans the opportunity to connect with the magazine's rich history. It's worth staying tuned for updates.
