Battan's Manga "The Golden Fly" Translated into English: Coming from BDP Press in July

Great news, manga fans! Battan's manga "The Golden Fly", noted for its unique atmosphere, is now meeting English readers. BDP Press, the imprint of Canada's established comic store and publisher Beguiling, has announced it has licensed this unique work. The English editions are planned for release in July 2026.
Actually, "The Golden Fly" was first published in Japan between 2021 and 2023 in Kodansha's good! Afternoon magazine. It was later collected into two Japanese tankōbon volumes. Battan is known not for fantasy illustrations similar to "Witch Hat Atelier", but for more realistic and disturbing stories. In this manga, the plot describes the chaos caused by a mysterious epidemic involving golden flies in a medieval-like world. The work, which combines suspense and body horror, received high praise from critics.
So why is this news important? Because "The Golden Fly" is a reflection of the increasing interest in manga in Turkey as well. Although it doesn't have a Turkish license yet, the English release means easier access on international platforms (e.g., Amazon, Book Depository). Moreover, Battan's style appeals to fans of Junji Ito's suspenseful world. BDP Press is previously known for independent works like "Cats and Dogs". This license shows the publisher is expanding its manga portfolio.
As of June 2026, an official pre-order page for "The Golden Fly" has not yet been published. However, detailed information is expected in the coming weeks via Beguiling's website. If you are interested in alternative manga trends, we recommend adding this title to your follow list. We hope a Turkish license comes in the future!
