Black Clover's 38th and Final Volume and Official Guide Book Released
Black Clover manga's final volume 38 was published in Japan on April 4, 2025, along with the official guide book. The series' creator Yuki Tabata bid farewell to fans with a completely new 15-page manga story drawn for this closing package. This publication, released under the Shueisha label, serves as the official end of the story in tankōbon format.
Black Clover began in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on February 16, 2015, and its main story ended on August 30, 2023. The series, written and drawn by Tabata, tells the story of Asta, who has no magical power, and his talented rival Yuno's dreams of becoming the Wizard King. This long journey spanning 38 volumes has become one of the beloved examples of the shōnen genre with themes of superhuman struggles as well as friendship and determination.
The most striking section of the guide book is the 15-page manga newly drawn by Tabata. Such additional stories provide a final appearance for the characters after a series' finale and create a valuable archival piece for collectors. It is noted that the same guide book also includes character profiles, world information, and notes on the series' production process. Thus, fans witness the main story's closure while also being able to examine the series' universe more closely.
The Black Clover universe had also reached a wide audience outside of the manga. The anime produced by Studio Pierrot was published between 2017-2021; in 2023, the Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King film was released. Since the manga finale also covers story parts not yet adapted in the anime, the possibility of a new anime project or film continues to remain on the agenda in the future. There is no official announcement yet regarding Tabata's new project; however, this final volume and guide book are recorded as the last official work for Black Clover for now.
