Bocchi the Rock! Manga Returns to Serialization: All Chapters Available for Free

Great news for fans of the music-themed comedy series Bocchi the Rock!: Hamaji Aki's manga officially returns to serialization with the August issue of Manga Time Kirara Max, released today (June 18). The series, which had been silent during the interim period, now meets readers with new chapters.
Publisher Futabasha and digital platform COMIC FUZ have opened all chapters from volume 1 to volume 8 for free access from June 18 to June 20 to celebrate this return. This opportunity is an unmissable chance for those new to the series or wanting to reread old chapters. The free reading campaign is valid only through the COMIC FUZ app.
Bocchi the Rock! first started publication in Manga Time Kirara Max in 2018. Created by Hamaji Aki, this work tells the story of Hitori Gotoh (nicknamed Bocchi), a high school student with social anxiety, as she embarks on the adventure of forming a music band. The manga made a big splash in 2022 with its anime adaptation by CloverWorks, becoming a phenomenon both in Japan and internationally. The anime, praised particularly for its music, character depth, and sense of humor, was nominated for many "Anime of the Year" awards.
The success of the anime multiplied interest in the manga; the series' total print count exceeded 2 million as of 2024. Now as the manga enters a new era, fans are eagerly awaiting news of a second season for the anime. Although there is no official announcement, the continuation of the manga serialization and its sustained popularity strengthen the possibility of a second season.
This return brings fresh momentum to both the manga's own story and the Bocchi the Rock! universe. The frequency of new chapter releases is not yet clear, but Hamaji Aki is expected to continue the series regularly. If you haven't read it yet, now is the perfect time to take advantage of the free period on COMIC FUZ and join Bocchi and her friends' fun musical journey!
