Volume 1 of “Bouya to Akuma” (Boy and Devil) Manga Released! An Unusual Story of a Lonely Boy and a Gyaru-style Succubus Begins

The first volume of the new manga series "Bouya to Akuma" (in English, Boy and Devil) was recently released in Japan and hit shelves. According to an announcement by Japanese news site Natalie, this work by 十はやみ (Ju Hayami) met readers on June 11, 2025.
The series tells the unexpected union of a lonely boy and a gyaru-style succubus (demoness) who one day shows up at his door. The story begins when the cheeky yet adorable succubus moves into the boy's home, blending supernatural elements with youth comedy and a warm friendship. This concept, combining gyaru fashion and mythology, brings a fresh breath to the "demon-human cohabitation" genre that has become popular recently.
Mangaka 十はやmi is known for short works like "Kanojo no Sakebi" (Her Scream). "Bouya to Akuma" stands out as his first long-running series. The publisher has not yet made an official English or Turkish license announcement, but fans of similar works like "Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!" (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) or "The Devil is a Part-Timer!" seem likely to follow this new series with interest.
The series has created excitement on social media in Japan with the release of the first volume, once again highlighting interest in gyaru subculture and the rise of succubus-themed manga. While the second volume is expected to be announced in the coming months, international license agreements are also eagerly anticipated. If you like this kind of story, don't forget to add "Bouya to Akuma" to your list!
