Love Spell on the Cold Marquis: Volume 1 of the 'Seiryaku Kekkon' Manga Adaptation Hits Shelves

“Seiryaku Kekkon no Aite ni ‘Watashi no Koto Suki ni Natte’ to Oinori Shita Kekka” (in Turkish: “Görücü Usulü Nişanlıma ‘Beni Sev’ Diye Dua Ettim ve Sonuç…”) the first volume of the romantic comedy manga, was released on June 12, 2025 under Kill Time Communication's Breeze Comics imprint. The series is adapted from the same-titled light novel by author Shirohi, with art by Shishibana Hatori.
The story follows Lilia, the shy daughter of a noble family, and her marriage to the cold and distant Marquis Alistair, chosen for her through an arranged marriage. Lilia, searching for a way to win her husband's heart, tries a prayer from an old spellbook that is supposed to make the target fall in love with you. However, things don't go as she hopes, leading to sweet, funny, and somewhat bizarre events.
Shirohi's novel had already gained great interest among Japanese readers who love the tropes of the “cold duke/husband” and the “shy heroine”. The manga adaptation blends this cliché with humor, emphasizing that love blooms naturally, not by force. Shishibana Hatori’s soft illustrations successfully depict Lilia’s inner conflicts and the gradually thawing icy demeanor of the Marquis.
Breeze Comics is a brand that has previously produced successful novel adaptations in similar genres. While further volumes of the “Seiryaku Kekkon” series are expected to be released, there is no official English or Turkish license information yet. The first volume, available digitally on platforms such as Bookwalker and Amazon Japan in Japanese, is a must-read start for manga fans who love romantic comedy and humorous spell stories.
