New Series from the Creator of Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou: Joshikousei no Nichijou Hits Shelves with Volume 1!

Yasunobu Yamauchi, one of the beloved names in the comedy world, has returned with a new project that has fans excited. The artist's highly anticipated new manga, Joshikousei no Nichijou (Daily Lives of High School Girls), received its first volume on May 12th under the Square Enix label. The work, which began serialization on Gangan Online last October, brings Yamauchi's unique sense of absurd humor to the world of high school girls this time.
When we hear the name Yamauchi, the first work that comes to mind is undoubtedly Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (Daily Lives of High School Boys), which left its mark on an era. Published between 2009 and 2012 and adapted into an anime by Sunrise studio in 2012, this series became a global phenomenon nicknamed "Nichibros." Following the original series, which sold over 2.3 million copies and even had a live-action film, Yamauchi sailed into different waters with the fantasy title Hakurai no Kishi (The Knight of White Thunder). However, it seems the master writer has made a magnificent return to his roots, the comedy genre where he recounts the absurdities of daily life.
The first volume of the new series offers sketches ranging from wordplay in internet comment sections to the most ordinary yet funniest moments of school life. Instead of focusing solely on the "cute girls doing cute things" cliché, Joshikousei no Nichijou highlights those unexpected and absurd situations that are Yamauchi's signature. Among the stories featured in the first volume, current themes such as internet pun wars and the strange relationship modern youth have with the digital world stand out. In particular, the chapters based on the efforts of internet commenters to add a joke to everything have been well-received by readers.
