Main Visual and New Cast Announced for “My Dry Colleague’s Obsessive Habit”: AKB48’s Yui Oguri Joins the Cast

The highly anticipated main visual and new cast for the live-action adaptation of the manga My Dry Colleague's Obsessive Habit (ドライな同期の溺愛癖) have been announced. The visual, released in Japan, features a striking composition where the protagonist's inner voice spills across the entire screen. The adaptation, based on Ekibi Pe's series of the same name, humorously depicts how a cold colleague is actually overly obsessive.
Among the new cast, the inclusion of AKB48 member Yui Oguri especially excited fans. Oguri is joined by Kazuki Kyoden, who has previously appeared in productions such as Kamen Rider and Kiyashite! Ryman!, and Shuhei Handa, known for his theater and drama acting. It has not yet been revealed which characters the three will play, but since the story is set in an office, it is speculated that these actors will portray the colleagues of the main characters.
The original manga series was written and illustrated by Ekibi Pe and was first published on a web platform. The series, which gained popularity digitally in Japan, brought a fresh twist to the romantic comedy genre by focusing on the hidden obsession of a man who appears "dry" and "cold." It is known that the manga has reached a total of 5 volumes, and a live-action adaptation was announced in 2024. Previously, it was announced that Kōki Osamura and Riko Nagase would play the lead roles.
When the live-action will be released and on which channel or platform it will air has not yet been clarified. However, the announcement of the main visual and additional cast is seen as a sign that the production will soon receive a start date. My Dry Colleague's Obsessive Habit will be an exciting production, especially for those who love workplace romance. It will be necessary to wait for the first episode to see how Ekibi Pe's humorous storytelling is reflected in the live-action.
