Eden of Witches Manga to End in August

Eden of Witches is reaching its end. According to Anime News Network, this enchanting fantasy manga created by Yuki Shiraishi (story) and Yuri Narushima (art) will conclude with its final chapter to be released on August 12, 2026. The announcement became official with a statement from the editorial team on June 16.
The series has an interesting publication journey: First launching in France in 2021, Eden of Witches transferred to Japan's famous Harta magazine in 2022. Harta is a magazine that hosts mostly independent and experimental manga; works like Kino no Tabi and Emma were published there. This transition made the series one of the rare examples born in the West and coming to life in the East.
The story follows a young witch named W living in a hut at the edge of a mystical forest, as she discovers the secrets of her past and the fate of the world. The series, noted for its high-level artistic drawings and deep themes, garnered great interest especially from Western readers. However, it is said to have fallen short of commercial expectations in Japan and that the planned story flow was completed in a short time.
While the conclusion of the series is saddening especially for Western fans, it means that the creators have reached a point where they want to complete their vision. Writer Yuki Shiraishi, previously known for works like Koukyuu no Karasu, and artist Yuri Narushima's character designs and atmospheric drawings were the most praised aspects of the series. It remains a question whether the duo will come out with a new project after this point.
According to sources, the series, expected to reach a total of 5 tankōbon volumes with the final chapter to be released on August 12, 2026, will have completed a short but impactful journey. Like other series published in Harta magazine, Eden of Witches seems to be remembered with a simple yet deep narrative.
