New Series from Famous Mangaka Akimine Kamijyo: "KILLER + SITTER" Begins

KILLER + SITTER, the brand new series by famous mangaka Akimine Kamijyo, started its publication today (June 24, 2024) in the 30th issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine. Released under the Kodansha label, this new manga is introduced as a human drama that blends action and emotion, starring a former top-class mercenary.
As the series name suggests, KILLER + SITTER combines the concepts of "killer" and "sitter," focusing on a character who has done the most dangerous jobs in the past now facing a completely opposite responsibility – taking care of a child. While a perfect blend of action and comedy is expected, it is said that Kamijyo's signature deep character drawings and emotional moments will be at the forefront.
Akimine Kamijyo is especially known for the legendary series "Samurai Deeper Kyo", which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1999 to 2006 and reached 38 volumes. After that, the mangaka worked on projects such as "Kurogane no Linebarrels" (manga adaptation) and "Shōnen Shōjo", and has now returned to a mainstream shonen magazine with a new series after a long hiatus. This return has generated great excitement, especially among old fans.
The 30th issue of Shonen Magazine is available in stores and on digital platforms in Japan as usual. The first chapter of the series is presented with color pages, and fans are eagerly waiting to see where the story will go in the coming weeks. The combination of the mystical and historical tone from Kamijyo's previous works with a modern thriller-drama offers a fresh breath for manga enthusiasts.
If you want to see both the funny and touching moments of an ex-assassin taking care of a child, we recommend you not miss the first issue of KILLER + SITTER. The series is expected to attract attention both in Japan and internationally in a short time, and a possible English license agreement may be announced.
