First Volume of Spadari Ouji-sama no Kuruiai Manga Released: A Steel-Nerved Lady and a Yandere Prince

The manga world has welcomed a new romantic comedy. The first volume of Minami's work Spadari Ouji-sama no Kuruiai (Turkish: “Super Man Prince's Crazy Love”) was published by Shogakukan in Japan as of June 10, 2024. The story is about a Cinderella-like love between a noble lady with a “steel mental” and a “heavy-paced yandere prince.”
The manga tells the encounter of Lady Elara, known for her strong and determined character, with Prince Alistair, the most influential prince in the country. Although Prince Alistair appears perfect and charismatic on the outside, he actually has an overly possessive and obsessive (yandere) personality. Lady Elara's cool-headed and unyielding attitude attracts the prince's interest, and he begins to chase her like prey. In the first volume, the tension-filled flirtation and unexpected romantic moments between these contrasting characters are presented to the reader.
Minami is a manga artist who has produced works in various genres. The author's ability to combine especially strong female characters and dark romantic elements is clearly evident in this new series. Spadari Ouji-sama no Kuruiai continues to be released chapter by chapter on Shogakukan's digital manga platforms. With the release of the first volume, the series' popularity has increased both in Japan and in international translation communities.
Yandere and “heavy” possessiveness themes have been frequently addressed in recent years, especially in shōjo and romantic manga. Such stories give readers a sense of forbidden love and dangerous attraction, while also providing the pleasure of watching a strong female character cope with the situation. Spadari Ouji-sama no Kuruiai seems to have struck this balance: the more obsessive the prince, the more steadfast Lady Elara stands. It's a must-read start for manga fans. It is eagerly anticipated to see how this twisted yet sweet relationship will evolve in upcoming volumes.
