First Volume of Summer Pockets Manga Adaptation Released: Praise from Voice Actor

The manga adaptation of Key studio's beloved visual novel Summer Pockets has finally been released. The first volume of the manga titled Summer Pockets―なつのたからもの―, illustrated by wogura, reached readers in Japan on June 18, 2025.
The manga retells the story of the original visual novel in a new format. It follows the main character who comes to a small island during summer vacation, and his emotional and nostalgic adventures with the mysterious girl Shiroha and other friends. wogura's soft illustrations successfully bring Key's familiar poignant atmosphere to the pages.
The publisher also received support from Shiroha's voice actor Konomi Kohara for the manga's promotion. Kohara said in a statement on her social media account, "I am very happy to see Shiroha in such a loving adaptation. I can say that the emotions from the original game are conveyed with the same liveliness in the manga."
As a reminder, Summer Pockets is a visual novel released by Key in 2018 that quickly gained a large fan base. The universe was expanded with the subsequent Summer Pockets Reflection Blue expansion pack. In 2025, the anime adaptation of the series was released and attracted attention especially for its visual quality. The manga adaptation became the second major media adaptation following this successful anime.
The first volume of the manga is currently only available in Japanese. It is not yet clear whether it will be licensed by an international publisher. Key fans have already enthusiastically welcomed this adaptation, which both reflects the spirit of the visual novel and offers a brand new reading experience. The release dates of subsequent volumes are eagerly awaited.
