The New Life of Former Duke's Daughter Felicia Begins 500 Years Later: First Volume of Manga Adaptation Released

A fresh breath of air is coming to the "betrayed noble" stories, one of the most popular themes in the manga world in recent years. Bushiroad Comics officially released the first volume of the Former Duke's Daughter Felicia Looks Forward (Moto Koushaku Reijou Felicia wa Mae o Muku) series as of May 8th. Illustrated by Kasane Toba, this new manga turns Gorogoro Mikan's original story into a visual feast.
At the center of the story is Felicia, a duke's daughter whose life is turned upside down when her fiancé falls in love with her own sister. However, instead of becoming a victim of a classic drama, Felicia decides to take her destiny into her own hands. Our heroine, who locks herself in her room for five days to prepare the necessary documents to convince her family to let her live as an independent working woman, faces a huge shock when she steps outside: exactly 500 years have passed! Meeting Prince Lian of the Lumos Empire, Felicia begins to seek her own happiness in this new world, free from the burdens of the past.
The name behind the series, Gorogoro Mikan, is a master writer in creating character depth, known for works such as The Princess of Blue Roses and The Jewel Princess Who Returned from the Dead. The series, which originally started as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform, was later published as a light novel under the KADOKAWA label. Kasane Toba's elegant and detailed illustrations successfully convey Felicia's emotional transformation and the changed world 500 years later to the reader.
This series is especially for those who enjoy the "villainess" or victimized noble genre.
