Furyō Seijo no Junrei: The Wicked Saint's Pilgrimage Manga Series Begins

Furyō Seijo no Junrei ~Tsuihōsareta Saikyō no Seijo wa, Sekai o Sukuu Tabi o Suru~ (The Wicked Saint's Pilgrimage: The Exiled Strongest Saint Sets Out to Save the World) officially began serialization on Overlap's Comic Gardo platform on June 11, 2024. The first chapter was also made available to readers in advance on Comic Cmoa.
This fantasy adventure from mangaka Cou turns classic saint clichés on their head. At the center of the story is a powerful girl who refuses to believe in God and is thus branded a 'wicked saint'. After being exiled, the saint embarks on a pilgrimage to save the world, confronting both her own beliefs and the dangers she encounters along the way. The series' tagline, “Kusomitee na ojousama shigusa wa yame da” (Stop that damn aristocratic attitude), sums up the character's rebellious and sarcastic personality.
Cou is known as an artist for popular series such as Majo no Tabitabi (The Wandering Witch). Taking on both writing and illustration duties for this new series, the mangaka aims to create a universe filled with dark humor and action. Published under Overlap, Comic Gardo has become a notable digital platform in recent years, hosting manga adaptations of works like The Rising of the Shield Hero and Mushoku Tensei.
The series aims to carve out a solid place among the recent popular isekai and fantasy manga that deal with the themes of 'exiled hero' and 'rebirth of a villain'. Especially having a powerful but outcast protagonist in the lead may attract fans of series like Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? and Re:Zero. After the first chapter, the series is expected to be released weekly. Although no official Turkish license announcement has been made yet, it is likely to be available soon to readers in English translation on global manga platforms.
