A New Adventure from the Creator of Rokudo’s Bad Girls: Hanzo and the Thirteen Female Ninjas is Out with Its First Volume!

Yuji Nakamura, one of the beloved names in the manga world, has returned after a long hiatus with a new project that will excite his fans. The new manga from the author who achieved great success with the Rokudo’s Bad Girls (Rokudou no Onna-tachi) series, Hanzo and the Thirteen Female Ninjas (Hanzo to Juusan-nin no Onna Shinobi), officially released its first volume on May 8th. Published by Akita Shoten, this first volume combines Nakamura's unique action and comedy style with a ninja theme.
The story takes place in the chaotic atmosphere of the Sengoku period and revolves around a young orphan named Hanzo who dreams of becoming an elite ninja. Living in Asama village, Hanzo undergoes rigorous training under the supervision of Yoda, a legendary and equally eccentric kunoichi (female ninja). However, Hanzo's path crosses not only with physical obstacles but also with 13 different female ninjas, each possessing unique abilities and personalities. The series carries the "strong female characters and the main character caught in the middle" dynamic, which we are familiar with from Nakamura's previous works, into a historical war atmosphere.
Yuji Nakamura is best known for Rokudo’s Bad Girls, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion magazine between 2016 and 2021. This series, which lasted for a total of 26 volumes and was adapted into an anime by studio Satelight in 2023, focused on bad girls falling in love with the main character due to a spell. With his new series Hanzo and the Thirteen Female Ninjas, Nakamura remains under the Weekly Shonen Champion umbrella, this time blending romantic comedy elements with ninja battles and strategy. The series began serialization in the magazine on January 15, 2024.
