Hiroyuki Ohashi's Cult Manga World Moves to Shibuya PARCO: Are You Ready to Design Your Own Merchandise?

Hiroyuki Ohashi, one of the most unique and "unconventional" names in the manga world, is taking his fans on an unforgettable journey in the heart of Tokyo. The "Hiroyuki Ohashi Manga Exhibition," which will be held at the "Hobonichi no Nichiyobi" gallery on the 8th floor of Shibuya PARCO between May 23 and June 21, 2026, will showcase the artist's raw talent and minimalist aesthetic. Moreover, this exhibition is not just for viewing; it also offers visitors the opportunity to create their own manga-themed merchandise!
One of the most exciting parts of the exhibition is undoubtedly the "1-Koma Kantan Print Kobo" (Single-Panel Easy Print Workshop). Visitors will be able to choose their favorites from approximately 90 different manga panels selected from Ohashi's works and have them printed instantly on T-shirts or tote bags. In addition, a personalized T-shirt project, which the artist will sign himself, will be offered to collectors for 6,600 yen. If you bring your own plain white T-shirt, it is also possible to have it printed!
So, what makes Hiroyuki Ohashi so special? Born in 1980, the artist is known for his drawing style called "heta-uma" (bad but good) in Japan, which appears simple at first glance but contains deep humor and emotion. In particular, the Ongaku (Music) anime film, which was released in 2020 and prepared with the rotoscope technique that took 7 years to produce, made Ohashi's name known worldwide. Another important work of the artist, Zokki, attracted great attention when it was adapted into a live-action film by famous directors in 2021.
More than 100 original hand drawings will be exhibited at the exhibition. The Ongaku section, in particular, allows you to follow the story from beginning to end through original drafts.
