"Isekai Rikujo" Volume 1 Released: Kemono Girls Go Pro in Athletics

Isekai Rikujo (Turkish: "Other World Athletics") was published in Japan on June 18, 2025 under the Shogakukan label. This new series, penned by author and illustrator Nekoguchi, follows the story of animal-eared girls passionate about athletics.
The series' plot is as follows: A group of "kemono girls" (animal-featured female characters) whose abilities are deemed insufficient strive to become professionals in a sport called "Kemono Girl Athletics" to realize their dreams. Competing in basic athletics disciplines such as running, jumping, and throwing, these girls try to overcome their own limits and surpass their rivals.
Nekoguchi is known for previous animal-themed works like "Kemono Friends". With this new series, he blends the isekai genre with sports manga: Characters live in a fantasy world while modern athletics rules apply. This unusual combination is poised to attract readers who enjoy the recently popular "kemono" (animal girl) and "sports" genres.
The first volume of the series, also released digitally on Shogakukan's "Manga One" platform, is 196 pages long. Its price is set at 715 yen (approximately 140 TL). Although no official English or Turkish license announcement has been made yet, the possibility of a translation is high due to the international interest in similarly themed series.
If you enjoy competitive sports stories with cute characters, Isekai Rikujo might be just for you. The first volume covers the formation of the team and their initial training adventures. Upcoming chapters promise tournament excitement and encounters with rival teams. The second volume is planned for release in autumn 2025.
