I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years Manga Adaptation Ends with Volume 19
It’s time for the finale of the I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level (Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita) manga adaptation. According to Anime News Network, the manga, which began in June 2017, will end with its 19th volume. This will be the final stop in the long-running journey of the adaptation based on the light novel series written by Kisetsu Morita and featuring character designs by Benio.
The series, drawn by Yusuke Shiba, was published in Square Enix’s Gangan JOKER magazine. The story follows Azusa Aizawa, who is reborn as an immortal witch after dying, as she spends 300 years defeating slimes to level up and then living a peaceful life. This simple but heartfelt narrative quickly built a loyal fan base on both the manga and light novel sides.
The popularity of the Slime series was not limited to paper pages. After meeting readers on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2016, the light novel hit shelves in 2017 under SB Creative’s GA Bunko label. In 2021, it was adapted into an anime by Pine Jam studio; the adventures of Azusa and her team came to screens as a 12-episode series. The manga’s conclusion with volume 19 marks an important milestone for this ever-growing universe.
Even though the manga’s finale marks the end of a journey independent of the source novel series, fans wonder, “Is the series completely ending?” Thanks to the light novels and ongoing anime projects, the Slime 300 universe continues to live on. No exact date has been announced for the final volume yet; however, when Volume 19 takes its place on shelves, this nine-year manga adventure will officially come to a close.
