Kageki Shoji!! Manga's Hiatus Extended: Return Date Postponed to August Due to Author's Health Issues

The wait for fans of Kageki Shojo!! manga will be a bit longer. Due to author Kumiko Saiki's health issues, the one-issue break that was previously scheduled to end on June 26 has been extended indefinitely. According to Anime News Network, the series' new return date is set for August 28.
The manga is published in Shueisha's Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine. In an official statement regarding Saiki's health condition, it was stated that the author needs a full recovery process and therefore has to temporarily take a break from her work. The magazine's management emphasized that they expect understanding from readers and prioritize Saiki's recovery.
Kageki Shojo!! is a manga that has been serialized since 2017 and tells the story of young girls attending a special theater school. Adapted from Kumiko Saiki's novel series of the same name, the work stands out for its narrative that combines performing arts and youth drama. The series, which was adapted into an anime by studio Pine Jam in 2021, was highly loved by fans. The 13-episode anime released at that time covered the first part of the story, and no announcement has been made for a second season yet.
It is known that Saiki has taken breaks due to health issues before. A similar situation occurred in 2023, when the manga was interrupted for several months. However, this postponement, which was planned as a single-issue hiatus but extended, shows the seriousness of the author's condition. Fans are sending their get-well wishes to Saiki on social media and hoping for the series to return in good health.
After the return on August 28, the series is expected to return to a regular publishing schedule. Meanwhile, the English and other language releases of Kageki Shojo!! follow the same schedule. Although the manga does not yet have an official publisher in Turkey, the anime adaptation can be watched on various platforms. We hope Kumiko Saiki fully recovers and brings us the continuation of this beautiful story.
