Star of the Shōjo World Kaho Miyasaka Returns: New Manga Announcements for April

Two exciting new beginnings have taken place in the manga world today. Kaho Miyasaka, one of the masters of the shōjo genre, has returned to her fans after a long wait with her new series Koi to Noroi wa Himeyaka ni (Love and Curses Begin Secretly). The manga, which published its first chapter in the June issue of Shogakukan's popular Cheese! magazine on April 23rd, invites readers into a world of dark secrets and forbidden love.
Koi to Noroi wa Himeyaka ni tells the story of a princess searching for the truth behind her mother's mysterious murder. On this dangerous journey, the young princess encounters a cursed and mysterious prince. Miyasaka, the creator of cult works such as Kare First Love and Bokutachi wa Shitteshimatta, promises characters with high emotional depth and a gripping plot in this new series as well. Especially after her success with the Kurosaki Hisho ni Homeraretai series, this new step by the mangaka has sparked great curiosity among shōjo fans.
Another important release of the day came from digital platforms. Adapted from Haisha Inudo’s popular light novel series, The Mixed Reality Streaming Life of a Grumpy Butler Vtuber and a Negative Clumsy Ojou-sama Vtuber has begun its publication life on the Corona EX platform. Illustrated by Kizusaki, this manga tells the story of a young girl who has withdrawn from social life (hikikomori) and debuts as a Vtuber to overcome her weaknesses and change her life. Blending modern internet culture and personal development with a humorous tone, the work stands out as the newest example of virtual streaming-themed manga that have been on the rise in recent years.
These two new series once again prove the importance the manga industry places on both classic shōjo narratives and modern digital trends. While experienced names like Kaho Miyasaka continue their dominance in the traditional magazine format, the rapid spread of Vtuber-themed works on digital platforms shows that the readership is diversifying. Both series seem poised to challenge the top spots on both physical and digital sales charts in the coming months. For fans of the genre, the first chapters of both works are currently available.
