Kazé Announces US Manga Market Entry Date: Starting in 2027

France-based publisher Kazé has announced that it will enter the international market in 2027 with its US manga imprint. The company is reported to initially offer a list of 5-8 books in 2027, then aim to reach 25-30 manga volumes annually by 2029. Publishing activities are also planned to begin in Brazil and Spain within the same year.
Founded in France in 2006 and with a strong history in anime licensing and manga publishing, Kazé is especially known for its Kazé Anime and Kazé Manga brands in Europe. As part of the Crunchyroll ecosystem, the company has focused on expanding manga access on a global scale in recent years. The US move stands out as the most concrete step in this strategy. Establishing an “imprint,” i.e., a separate publishing label, means that Kazé will enter different markets while preserving its own identity.
The US manga market is an extremely competitive field where publishers such as Viz Media, Kodansha USA, Yen Press, and Seven Seas Entertainment are strong. Kazé’s goal of starting with a small number of books in 2027 and reaching 30 books annually by 2029 presents a plan that seeks steady growth without rushing. The Brazil and Spain expansion shows that the company is not focusing only on the English-language market, but also targeting large Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking readerships.
This development is also significant for the globalization of Western manga publishing. Kazé’s distribution experience in Europe and its history of anime licensing could accelerate the arrival of beloved series in the US. It remains to be seen which manga will be selected by 2027 and how digital/physical publishing plans will take shape.
