“Kudamimi no Neko” Manga Ends Its 12-Year 5-Month Adventure

Another long-running farewell: “Kudamimi no Neko”, published in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic QUN magazine, concluded with the August issue released on June 26, 2025. The work, written and illustrated by Miyuki Nakayama, had been accompanying readers for exactly 12 years and 5 months.
The manga takes its name from the main character Kudamimi and depicts her daily life with her owner. With its warm and humorous storytelling, the series quickly built a fanbase and became a beloved masterpiece, especially among cat lovers. Nakayama's fluid artwork and natural dialogues between characters were elements that kept the series fresh.
Miyuki Nakayama first started the manga in Monthly Comic QUN in early 2013. Since then, regularly published chapters made readers laugh and cry. Upon hearing the news of the series' end, fans shared their feelings on social media, while many celebrated Nakayama's long-running adventure.
For now, “Kudamimi no Neko” has only one completed tankōbon volume; it is not yet clear whether a collected edition or a special collection will be released after the final chapter. While Nakayama's future projects are eagerly anticipated, this farewell also marks the end of an era for Monthly Comic QUN.
Holding a special place among cat-themed manga, the work has brought joy to readers for over 12 years. Although the story has now ended with the final chapter, the warmth of Kudamimi will remain in our minds. If you haven't read it yet, now is the perfect time to discover the series from beginning to end!
