New Names Join the Cast of Live-Action Series 'Camouflage Couple'

New cast announcements have been made for the live-action series "Camouflage Couple" (full Japanese title: "もう1度夫婦になりますか?~カモフラージュ夫婦~") adapted from the original work by Miyabi Mutsu and Hibiki Uehara. According to reports from Japan, Momotsuki Nashiko, Kohei Takeda, Haruka Shimazaki, Mari Hamada, and Reiko Takashima are joining the series.
Although the main cast had not been previously announced, the addition of these five names suggests the story will become a multi-layered family drama. In particular, the involvement of former AKB48 member Haruka Shimazaki and experienced actress Reiko Takashima appears to enhance the series' acting quality.
"Camouflage Couple" tells the story of a couple trying to save their marriage. The original work is a collaboration between mangaka Miyabi Mutsu and Hibiki Uehara, notable for its original screenplay. Although the director and broadcast channel have not been officially announced yet, the production is expected to air sometime in 2025.
This type of adaptation is quite exciting, especially given the popularity of live-action series adapted from manga and novels on Japanese television in recent years. Fans are eagerly awaiting how Mutsu and Uehara's original world will be reflected in live-action format. More details about the series (release date, trailer, etc.) are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
