MARRIAGETOXIN: Laying the Groundwork for Shiori's Story Arc!

One of the most unique works on the Shonen Jump+ platform, MARRIAGETOXIN, is shifting gears in its latest chapters! The extraordinary partnership between poison assassin Gero and marriage scammer Kinosaki is deepening by focusing on Shiori's story arc. The latest developments in the series place Shiori's character development on a solid foundation while providing important clues for major future events.
This stage of the story focuses more on the emotional depth and motivations of the characters rather than pure action. Shiori's past and her interaction with Gero prove that the series is not just a fighting manga, but also contains a strong character drama. Critics appreciate this calm but strategic progression in the narrative, stating that these chapters are "setting the stones in place for future big explosions." In particular, the meticulous handling of the chemistry between the characters increases the readers' commitment to the story.
Started in April 2022, written by Jou Nyuichi and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda, MARRIAGETOXIN reached a large fan base in a short time. Mizuki Yoda's (who previously worked as an assistant to Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami) dynamic and detailed drawings turn the series into a visual feast. The series follows the funny, dangerous, and equally romantic adventures of Gero, who needs to find a wife urgently to save his sister from a forced marriage, and Kinosaki, whom he hired as a "marriage consultant."
Although the question "when will it be an anime?" is being asked louder every day among fans, there is no official studio announcement for now. However, the meticulousness of MARRIAGETOXIN's storytelling and the time it dedicates to its characters signal how profound a possible anime adaptation could be. With the completion of the Shiori arc, the series' popularity is expected to increase even further and solidify its place at the top of the Shonen Jump+ charts.
