Created by mangaka Hiromu Shinozuka, Mirumo de Pon! first began its journey in Ciao magazine in 2001. Achieving rare success by winning both the Shogakukan Manga Award and the Kodansha Manga Award in 2003, the series focuses on fairies coming to Earth to grant humans' wishes. The 172-episode anime adaptation, which aired between 2002 and 2005, turned the series into a global phenomenon. This partnership with a sports giant like the Hanshin Tigers proves once again how solid the series' place is in Japanese pop culture.
So, why is this collaboration so important for fans? In Japan, baseball and anime culture are intertwined, and the Hanshin Tigers are followed with incredible passion, especially in the Kansai region. While seeing Mirumo again is a great source of joy for old-school anime lovers, it also offers a wonderful opportunity for the new generation to meet these cute fairies. If you were one of those who tried to summon a fairy by drinking cocoa from a mug back in the day, this collection might be just for you!
