Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Special Exhibition
One of the most entertaining romantic comedy manga, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (known in Turkish as Aylık Kız Nozaki-kun), is preparing to celebrate 15 years since its first publication with a big event. The series, written and illustrated by Izumi Tsubaki, started in 2010 in Square Enix's Gangan Online magazine and quickly gained a large fan base both in Japan and internationally.
According to Natalie, the 15th anniversary special exhibition will open at Tokyo's Yūrakuchō Marui store on August 7. Then it will be held at Namba Marui in Osaka from September 4-13, at Hakata Marui in Fukuoka from October 2-12, and at Nagoya PARCO in Aichi from October 17 to November 1. It is noted that the content displayed may differ in each city.
One of the most striking elements of the exhibition is a brand new illustration drawn by Izumi Tsubaki for this special event. The illustration features the series' iconic characters including Chiyo Sakura and Umetarō Nozaki, as well as Mikori Mikoshiba, Yū Kashima, and other classic faces. Additionally, original pages from the manga, color drawings, and rare merchandise will be on display. Admission to the exhibition will be free, but some special souvenirs and limited edition items may be available for purchase.
This news also brings to mind the series' anime adaptation, which aired in 2015 and received great acclaim. The 12-episode anime produced by Dogakobo was memorable for its solid comedic dosage and surprising interactions between characters. Unfortunately, a second season has not been announced yet, but the manga continues to be published regularly. The 15th anniversary exhibition is also a great opportunity for newcomers to the series, as many bookstores are expected to hold special discounts and promotions during the event.
