New Manga Announcement: 'Rokujouma no Kami no Kuni' – An Angel and a Demon Raise a Child

Rokujouma no Kami no Kuni (The Land of Gods in a Six-Tatami Room), the highly anticipated new manga series by Kai Ruike, hit the shelves under the Kadokawa label on June 26, 2025. Ruike, known for his previous work 'Kegawa to Nakami' (Fur and Its Inside), this time tackles a completely different theme: the unusual parenting adventure of an angel and a demon.
The first volume went on sale in Japan as of today. The story revolves around an angel and a demon who are forced to raise a child together. This comedy-drama blend, set in a world where supernatural beings are part of everyday life, particularly appeals to readers of 'Kegawa to Nakami'. Ruike's previous series depicted the strange relationship between a man trapped inside a fur coat and a woman, and garnered attention for its unusual premise.
Kai Ruike established a solid place in the manga world with 'Kegawa to Nakami', published in Dengeki Daioh magazine. With his new series, he once again offers an unusual perspective on the human condition. The title 'Rokujouma no Kami no Kuni' refers to the story taking place in a small room the size of six tatami mats. The cramped space further accentuates the differences in character between the angel and the demon.
For now, there is no information on how many volumes the series will span or about international licensing agreements. However, Kadokawa being a major publisher could ensure the series quickly finds a place on digital platforms as well. Particularly for readers interested in supernatural comedies with parenting themes, 'Rokujouma no Kami no Kuni' stands out as one of the most exciting new manga of summer 2025.
