A New Series from the Creator of Kimi wa Meido-sama: The Humorous Story of a Writer and a Shiba Inu Begins

Hironari Takachi is back with a brand new project following his globally acclaimed works. Takachi's latest manga, Sakusha no Kimochi o Kotaenasai (Answer the Author's Feelings), officially began serialization on April 17th in the 9th issue of Square Enix's popular seinen magazine, Young Gangan. The series offers a heartwarming comedy story focusing on the life of a writer experiencing creative block.
At the center of the manga is a novelist who has been struggling to find a new idea for a long time and has entered a professional slump. Our protagonist decides to live a "kanzume" (canned life) style, where writers isolate themselves from the outside world until they finish their work, but he shares this process not alone, but with an adorable Shiba Inu. The story handles the funny and sometimes touching moments of this duo's reclusive life with a "wan-derful" (a play on the Japanese dog bark 'wan' and 'wonderful') tone.
Author Hironari Takachi gained immense popularity with his series Kimi wa Meido-sama (You Are Ms. Servant), which is also preparing to hit screens with an anime adaptation in 2024. Known for his character-driven humor and success in capturing the absurd details of daily life, Takachi promises a similar warmth in this new series. Young Gangan magazine is known for hosting hit series like My Dress-Up Darling and Saki, which shows that the new series is in the right place for fans of the genre.
Targeting animal lovers and fans of the slice-of-life genre, Sakusha no Kimochi o Kotaenasai blends the pains of a writer's creative process with the joy of a pet. Readers will both laugh and find something relatable as they follow the writer's efforts to overcome his block and the unexpected roles the Shiba Inu plays in this process. New chapters of the series will continue to appear in the pages of Young Gangan on a bi-weekly basis.
