A New Romantic Comedy Begins on Shonen Jump+: Ojou-sama no Geboku

Shonen Jump+, one of the most popular digital platforms in the manga world, added another ambitious romantic comedy series to its library on April 13, 2026. Written by Yagi-kun, Ojou-sama no Geboku (The Lady's Servant) met readers with its first chapter. The series has managed to draw attention by adding an absurd, superhero-themed sense of humor to the conventional rich girl-poor boy dynamic.
At the center of the story is Kinoshita Hokusai, who falls into a debt of 1 billion yen after a major defeat in gambling. While crushed under this massive debt, Hokusai coincidentally saves the life of Amamiya Rui, the heir to a large conglomerate. As a token of her gratitude, Rui pays off the young man's entire debt in one go; however, she has one condition: Hokusai must serve as her sidekick in her greatest hobby, "heroic activities." This extraordinary agreement opens the doors to a new life for the duo, pregnant with both funny and romantic moments.
Ojou-sama no Geboku is not actually a completely new idea. The series had previously garnered great interest as a web manga self-published by the author on X (formerly Twitter) and Shonen Jump Rookie platforms. This concept, which received over 20,000 likes on social media and full marks from readers, caught the attention of Shonen Jump+ editors and earned the right to official serialization. Although author Yagi-kun is known for works such as Satsuriku no Ou and Ajin no Ou, he aims to capture a lighter and more fun tone with this new series.
For fans of the genre, this new series offers a breath of fresh air by combining the classic "ojou-sama" (noble/rich young lady) trope with a modern obsession with heroism. The manga, which will be updated with new chapters every Monday on the Shonen Jump+ platform, stands out as a must-watch production, especially for fans who enjoy character dynamics in the style of Spy x Family or Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Let's see if Hokusai will be able to both pay off his 1 billion yen debt and keep up with Rui's eccentric heroic adventures.
