Omamori Himari Manga Gets a Special One-Shot Chapter for Its 20th Anniversary

Omamori Himari fans rejoice! The series by Milan Matra, published in Dragon Age magazine from 2006 to 2013, is preparing to meet readers with a special one-shot chapter in honor of its 20th anniversary. According to Anime News Network, the release date for this special chapter has not yet been confirmed, but it is expected to come out in 2026.
The series tells a harem comedy story revolving around Himari, a protective cat spirit, and Yuto Amakawa, an ordinary high school student. Omamori Himari reached a wide audience especially through its 12-episode anime adaptation released in 2010. The anime was produced by studios Gonzo and AIC Plus and was among the popular productions of its time.
It is worth noting that the manga consists of a total of 56 volumes and has sold over 3 million copies in Japan. Although Milan Matra has since worked on different projects such as Kuro no Shoukanshi, Omamori Himari remains his most recognized work. This one-shot will both bring nostalgia to old fans and provide an opportunity to introduce the series to new readers.
It has not yet been announced in which magazine or digital platform the 20th anniversary one-shot will be published. However, based on similar past celebrations, it is highly likely to appear in Monthly Dragon Age or on Kadokawa's digital platforms. Fans are eagerly waiting to see whether this special chapter will be a continuation of the main story or an alternative side story.
The year 2026 marks the anniversaries of many classic manga. The return of Omamori Himari is a nice gesture for a series that began its journey in the mid-2000s and is still fondly remembered. Stay tuned for updates!
