The First Volume of the Osananajimitachi ni Shiitagerareta Ore Manga Adaptation Has Been Released

One of Japan's leading publishers, Takeshobo, has taken the first step of a new series that is making waves in the fantasy world. The first volume of the manga Osananajimitachi ni Shiitagerareta Ore, 'Seijo Ninmei' Skill ni Mezame te Tenohira Gaeshi! (I, Who Was Despised by My Childhood Friends, Awakened to the 'Saintess Appointment' Skill and Turned the Tables!), adapted from the popular web novel written by Sato, hit the shelves as of April 7.
The story centers on Lute, who grows up as the only male in a village inhabited solely by women where future saints are raised. Lute, who lives a life of hell, being despised for years by the women in the village and his childhood friends, one day awakens to a unique skill called "Saintess Appointment" that will completely change his destiny. This skill grants him the power to decide who will become a holy saint, leaving the future of those who oppressed him entirely in his hands.
Mibi Yanaya, who handles the illustrations for the series, successfully captures the emotional changes of the characters and the dark atmosphere of the series. After gaining great popularity on Shosetsuka ni Naro, Japan's largest user-generated novel platform, the original story began serialization on Takeshobo's Web Comic Gamma Plus platform. This first volume is of great importance in terms of reflecting the success achieved in the digital environment into physical sales.
Processing the themes of "status change" (tenohira gaeshi) and "revenge," which have been quite popular in the manga world in recent years, this work offers an ideal option for readers who especially enjoy the process of characters who have been treated unfairly gaining power. With the release of the first volume, it is expected that the series' fan base will expand and pave the way for a possible anime adaptation in the future. New chapters of the series can be followed on Web Comic Gamma Plus.
