'Oshiete! Gyaruko-chan' Returns with Volume 6 After 8 Years

After a long wait, there's good news for fans of Oshiete! Gyaruko-chan. The 6th volume of Kenya Suzuki's beloved comedy manga was released in Japan on June 23. This is the first new book after a full 8 years since the 5th volume came out in July 2018.
As the title suggests, the manga follows the daily life of Gyaruko-chan, a typical 'gyaru' (gal) girl, and her comedic interactions with friends and family. The series started on the Comic Walker platform in 2014 and quickly gained attention for its humorous dialogue and the genuine dynamics of its characters. In 2016, it received an anime short film adaptation.
The new volume is sure to excite both longtime readers and newcomers to the series. While it was thought that the story had reached a certain point with volume 5, Suzuki's return to the pen signals that the series will continue. According to publisher Kadokawa's announcement, volume 6 contains new adventures of the characters we know from previous volumes, and perhaps some surprises as well.
For manga fans, a series getting a new volume after such a long break is always a big event. Especially Oshiete! Gyaruko-chan, one of the rare representatives of the gyaru genre, is still remembered for its jokes that reflect the spirit of the times and its exaggerated characters. It is a matter of curiosity whether Suzuki's style has remained the same despite the 8-year gap. Early impressions suggest that the artwork and sense of humor are as lively as ever.
Volume 6 is currently only available for sale in Japan, and it has not yet been announced when it will arrive on international digital platforms. However, in the past, the series' English translation was handled by Seven Seas Entertainment. Fans hope that the new volume will follow a similar path. If you get a chance to get your hands on it, don't miss Gyaruko-chan's return – the 8 years that have passed don't seem to have diminished her energy.
